Used: Flying PC's
Dear ,
After the update to CEP, I was doing an underwater run. When I left the water, I found I was still "swimming" in terms of animation. I gotta say, it was really cool! (ask Manny)
I was wondering if winged characters could be allowed to choose the "swim" animation on dry land, because it actually looks as if we are flying. Physics aside, the look is more in concert with what I thought of when I picked a winged player character.
Just a thought...

I like the idea. It's does look like the winged character is flying about.

Re: Used: Flying PC's
You'll be happy to know that I've:
a) fixed the constant "swimming" animation upon leaving the water
b) scripted the same animation style for winged beings via style fly VC command (when wearing clothing or light armor). This one's going in for the next planned reset after I make a few other changes in the toolset.
I was busy today.
And yes, the "swimming" is the CEP's "flying" animation.

If I thought of everything, I'd be rich from hundreds of ingenius inventions.
cloak of the bat? Nope. It only give you wings long enough for one "hop" at a time.
And yes, you got silly a long time ago.

No, I found it online. I just added the text and recolored the eye to be blue instead of yellow. The artist's sig is visible, but hell if I can read the name.

Re: Used: Flying PC's
Ya know...i had a thought...is it possible to alter the level the figure appears to be flying at?
Would be neat to be high in the air. I think its just coordinates that determines the level...maybe a vc command could dictate that.

Re: Used: Flying PC's
It's actually built in as part of the phenotype model(s). Technically you're still on the ground, you just appear to be in the air.Kefrem wrote:Ya know...i had a thought...is it possible to alter the level the figure appears to be flying at?

Re: Used: Flying PC's
That's the levitation style added with ACPv4. The flying one is part of CEP.Kefrem wrote:Ahh thats right...it plays off the *mysterium* guys animation.
Re: Used: Flying PC's
Really? that one lich guy in the monster basic list floats exactly like that...and hes from the bioware patch for that one module. Maybe they pulled it from him. Eh..either way its too bad...would be cool to fly at different levels

Re: Used: Flying PC's
I think Kefrem's mentally mixing up the levitation and flying styles (they're different).
Re: Used: Flying PC's
all i know is theres some floating lich guy in the monsters when i boot up a basic toolset now...he has the same levitation we/you use on aenea...same folded arms all of it.
I know he doesnt fly...this was just a different train of thought was all...i know he dont actually fly. Just ignore me im rambling again

Re: Used: Flying PC's
Ah, I see him (got my toolset open now). And reading some notes posted by ragnarok_mr4 (the guy that made the ACP), the levitate one is based directly on that model.
I think the CEP flying animation looks good...as long as you're not sitting still talking or something...then it just looks like you're bobbing up and down a little on some sort of stage harness.
