Oct. 4, 2010: Hak Files Updates and Optional Addition
I've now got the new hak files compressed so that they can be uploaded to the Vault. Just waiting to hear from the Vault folks about getting the new password for their FTP server (since it's been over a year since I used it and they changed the password on me).
Once the files are uploaded and transferred to the downloads page, there will be two initial options for direct download:
1. PLAYERPACK_OCT_2010.7z - This one will have all the needed hak files and talk file for new players. (280 MB)
2. PLAYERPACK_PATCH_OCT_2010.7z - This one will have all the files that have been changed since the May "patch". Includes updated versions of older Aenea haks (moving some files around, removing redundant content), plus lots of new stuff, so it's almost as big of a download as the full pack. (246 MB)
Download/update via WorldGate will also be available at the same time.
I've started work in the toolset, already making use of some of the new content. The update to the module will go online once the direct-download files are available on the Vault. So far today I've revamped magical staves found in loot drops (I still need to check merchants), added the code for the VFX-based shoulder-sitting parrots, and begun work on some new underwater areas north of Macedone.
Optional Addition:
I'm also adding the Community Music Pack for Aenea. Downloading this very large (384 MB) compilation is optional for players, since if you don't have it, you just won't hear the music in areas that make use of it. You'll still be able to play just fine without it. I'll slowly be adding some of the sounds from it after I listen to every included piece and write down notes for myself on which sounds would work for which situations.

Got the FTP password from BeyondThePale at the Vault and uploaded the two packages. Now I just have to wait for him to manually transfer & link them to the World of Aenea Files page.
After they're linked, I'll be cleaning up the downloads list on the Vault to make things simpler for newer (and current) players.

Let me just say, , I sure do like the new loadscreens! Granted, I've only seen three, but they were very nicely done, I think. Enough of a change to make it fresh, but not too different.

Eric's been using WorldGate, I see. Still waiting for the FTP'd files to get moved to the Vault download page before I consider the new stuff "officially online".
One new loadscreen (for the Astral Conjunction), plus redone/simplified "server branding" that overlays all loadscreens.

Yes, yes, I do love Worldgate! It's got that fire and forget functionality that is so very convenient in our household!

New direct download files available on the Vault page. Module update pending my finishing of new undersea areas tonight or tomorrow (magic staves may look a bit funky for you until then).

The special music I had for Crid's sanctum is no longer working
What broke it?

Were you using an override of ambientmusic.2da? If you were, it would take lower priority than the one in the hak file.daveyeisley wrote:The special music I had for Crid's sanctum is no longer working

Re: Oct. 4, 2010: Hak Files Updates and Optional Addition
No. Anybody who entered could hear it. Wasnt an override. It was music that I was able to select in the build module.

Do you still have the area saved as a module? If so, import it into the updated build module, and see if the music is off in there, and if so, what it's set to. The CMP may be the cause, I forget if the CMP's 2da mucks about with any of the default nwn music or not.

Re: Oct. 4, 2010: Hak Files Updates and Optional Addition
It's not just dave either.. I had the same music set for the daytime in the House of the Rising Sun.. the Infinate Dungeon soundtrack... it has been selectable since the upgrade to v1.69... I got nothing too... (though I did have the night time Kingmaker Theme ~ also availiable since the v1.69 update)...
I compared both ambient.2da's and could see no difference for the lines (both tracks are number 81, and are exactly the same in both 2da's)...
I looked in my build module and my ambient sounds had changed to Monastry Interior (I'm not sure what WAS there, but I am kinda certain that wasn't...).. My Music, Day was blank and the Infinate Dungeons soundtrack wasn't even in the list anymore!....
I put the ambientmusic.2da (and the AmbientSound.2da, for good measure) from my nwn source folder into my cep2_custom hak and things returned to normal... both in my PBM, and live in aenea (in my house and daves).... ....
I'm not sure why but adding in the "non-conflicting optional CMPambientmusic.2da" to the aenea files is likely messing something up somewhere... ... ((and as yet I've not got the full CMP myself (just the little hak with the 2da's for comparison) .. to see if it makes any difference, though I'm d/l that now...))
EDIT :: Further invest shows that the ambientmusic in the aeneaupdate is "missing" lines.... specifically lines 81-89 (they just state bio_reserved) and 90-95 contain different music to the source... this is where our problem lies... aenea's ambient lists custom music for aenea from line 90 -99 with from what I can see the CMP starting from lines 100 onwards... ,
Hope that helps ye fix it for us all ...
