Used: Monk Ki Focus
Could this go back to making those really sweet shurikens please?
The "wave of ki energy'.... i'm just finding it a whole lot less useful than the shurikens were. It also appears to be an duplicate of the monk paragon ability (daze instead of a stun, same DC, appears to be about the same size AoE), so while it's kinda neat to effectively have double the paragon ability uses... it's still incredibly meh.
The shurikens are just much more fun.

Re: Used: Monk Ki Focus
Sounds good to me.
Edit: Bah! Looks like I'll need to remake those shuriken since I'd deleted the blueprint for them. No matter, if I recall they were +5 and did some decent magical damage when they hit.

I recall postive damage too. I can't recall if they scalled with monk level or not though.

Re: Used: Monk Ki Focus
They didn't scale, but I'm working out a way for them to do that (not in power, but in number created). I'm thinking 1, plus 1 per 7 levels (at 7th, 14th, etc), so that a 35th level monk could end up with a handful of them (6) to hurl.
Re: Used: Monk Ki Focus
I think the number could even scale faster and higher than 6.... what about 1 per monk level, or 1 per 2 monk levels?
Honestly, shurikens dont hit very hard, and a PC will tear thru a full stack of 50 very quickly, let alone just 6 of them.

Re: Used: Monk Ki Focus
Stats (for now) for updated * Ki Star:
Item Type: Shuriken
Damage Bonus: Negative Energy 1d6 Damage
Damage Bonus: Positive Energy 1d6 Damage
Enhancement Bonus +5
Extra Ranged Damage Type: Bludgeoning
Extra Ranged Damage Type: Slashing
Light Normal (15m) Green
Mighty +10
Number Created per Ki Focus use (1 use/day):
Monk level 4-6: 1
Monk level 7-13: 2
Monk level 14-20: 3
Monk level 21-27: 4
Monk level 28-34: 5
Monk level 35+: 6
While a monk can go through shuriken fast, these are completely free, are powerful, allow up to 10 points of damage each from the monk's strength, and can be held for any length of time (they don't expire until used, and the monk could build up a large supply eventually with patience and conservation). I also reduced the starting level for these from 10th to 4th.
They'll be in-game with the next module update.
The old ones did 1d4 of a bunch of different energy types (and were blue), but the monk had to be level 10+ and only got 1 per day no matter the level.

Re: Used: Monk Ki Focus
Nice! Def. makes the monk more appealing to a non-monk player such as me!
