weapon appearance crafting

earlier i tried using the in game instructions to shift the appearance of a katana but i couldnt get it to work...is it broken?

Did you use the Boots of Crafting? I could be wrong, but my understanding is that those are the only way to alter weapon appearance.

i thought that was for actual crafting.....all i ever used to do was go to shentil into the dwarfs shop and just do the *craft weapon t 1 12 and poof it would take gold and shift it.

Yeah for crafting of all weapon appearances you'll now need to use a set of Boots of Crafting, found in many locations throughout Aenea, the most easily accessible one being in Bluebeards tower (right turn a bit from the SDI in VV)...

They also allow appearance crafting of Helms, Cloaks and Shields.. and you'll need a Shronji's Self Service tailor (nearest in Macedone) to craft Armour appearances.... ...

And you'll need to be in a workshop for crafting...

As far as I know.. Ring/Boot/Glove/Bracer/Belt/Amulet crafting still follows the select tool & VC command route.... things were changed this way so that people could preview the "visible" stuff before making the changes....

And you'll need at least 8 ranks in the craft skill (Craft Weapon for weapons, Craft Armour for everything else)....



Item "crafting" from base materials still needs a workshop and an anvil and VC commands.... and magic item "crafting" still needs a lab and the feats plus base materials and spells available ... ...
