"Weapon Focus" Ray

Well, after a long hiatus from Aenea (RL catches up to you that way), I have returned. I had a peculiar dream, that I would like to turn into a character. More on that later, in a Character Bio. For now, I have a question about mechanics. Specifically I would like to know which spells, the weapon focus ray feat actually applies to. I am assuming such obvious things as negative energy ray and ray of frost, but what about finger of death, disintegrate or any of the Aenea specific spells. (Aside-I can't use question marks ATM, because I just spilled coffee on my keyboard).

Can anyone give me an approximate list, or even tell me how the script is implemented. I mean it might apply to all ranged touch attacks.

Also, is the feat implemented at the epic level, ie Epic Weapon Focus.

I don't know off hand all the spells that use it, but I do know that finger of death doesn't. Disintigrate does I believe. Cleave health too I think. Not sure which ones though.

Without checking, just going by what spells I know are "rays", I would assume the feat works with:
ray of frost
negative energy ray
Disintigrate
Cleave Health
Sunbeam
The Telemus Arcanum spells (1 thorugh 9)
Otiluke's Freezing Sphere (when cast as a ray)
Silverblade's Searing Strike
Phoenix's Frigid Bolts

Those spells at least say "ray" in the descriptions, but I'm not 100% sure if the feat applies to them or not.

Ranged touch attacks use dex in the attack roll, so the weapon finesse feat isn't needed. The melee touch attacks use strength in their rolls though, but those aren't rays so the ray focus feat wouln't apply there.

How about Lesser / Normal / Greater Healing Ray ?
Would those count ?

You've pretty much got all the ray spells listed so far (the one's I can think of anyway). Not sure about sunbeam.

The healing ray spells are an automatic hit.

As far as mechanics go, the ray spell scripts I've written check to see if you have the feat. If you do, then you are granted a very brief +1 bonus to attack rolls (just long enough for the script to finish running), then your ranged touch attack roll is made and if successful, the spell takes effect.

Ah yes... looked it up, was thinking Searing Light may be a "ray" spell... got that mixed up with sunbeam.

And the healing rays... are they automatic hits when used against undead as well? I could have sworn seeing them do a ranged touch attack last time I used them to blast zombies.

So what about the wiz\sor arcane attacks (fire,acid,lit,etc). Also what about the Firestarter's flame ray.

Those I'll have to look into (and will be anyway when I rescript them soon after I do the rest of the spells).

I think you already set the firestarter flameray to work with the focus I remember you released both that class and feat at the same time
