Dlink DIR 601 Router
Does anyone have a clue about this router as far as portforwarding for Neverwinter Nights? I googled for the info and set the router up. I open the NWServer with NWNX2. The IP address I used on the router was the 1 listed on NWServer. The module appeared in the Alternative tab of Gamespy like it should but when I tried to log on, it said 'could not connect to server'. I haven't had problems with setting up the old linksys router but this dlink and I are not getting along too well =( If anyone has any solutions, I would be very grateful.

I believe you need to forward port 5120 and port 5121 to the IP address of the server.
EDIT: That would the the ports 5121 and 5120 using the UDP protocol. Should be under the advanced settings after logging into the router.

Re: Dlink DIR 601 Router
I have port 5120=5300 ported among others. 1 thing I noticed is the IP on NWServer is different from the IP on Gamespy when I check details of the server. I've not ever had this issue before with the linksys router so never had a reason to check before. Therefore I do not know if this is normal or not.

IP on gamespy would be the IP of your cable modem, I believe. Why the game server isnt using the same IP I do not know.l

Re: Dlink DIR 601 Router
I think it has something to do with the dlink router since I've not had any troubles before with the old linksys. It probably would be easier to just re-install the old router but I'm the type that believes there must be a fix and so want to do it.

Re: Dlink DIR 601 Router
Thanks for your help Dave. I simply re-installed the linksys router...much easier to work with in all aspects. I did this because an IT friend of mine gave his opinion of the dlink. So, now my mod is back online...woohoo! Also, even now I do notice that the IP used by NWServer and the one listed for the mod on Gamespy are totally different so it would rationalize that this is the norm, heheh.
Thanks again for trying to help with the dlink 'crap' as my friend called it

Re: Dlink DIR 601 Router
Out of curiosity, because I think there may have been some wierd NATting going on, what two IP are showing now, and are they basically the same as with the dlink?
The other question would be, was the dlink configured for uPnP? The linkage should have that as a default.

Re: Dlink DIR 601 Router
The dlink was setup for uPnP and yes it is default for 'linkage'
the IPs for the linksys and dlink routers are close and the IPs shown on Gamespy are alil similar
