Oct. 26, 2012: The Maker Gets with the Times
The Maker:
During the next module update (sometime today), The Maker (that pleasant fellow in Macedone) will start getting with the times.
I've updated his shop a little bit, have updated the coding that runs in the background for him, updated his conversation, and started expanding on the number of objects he can make.
Instead of everything running via a whole bunch of scripts in his conversation, I've changed things so that a single new script runs his entire process. He uses his conversation to let characters know what kinds of things he can make and what is needed to make them.
The new code uses a magical crystal that the non-gp items are placed on, plus a new VC command that only functions within his shop (;;maker xxxxx, with xxxxx being replaced by a specific code for a specific item).
Some of the items he makes will depend on a couple of new objects that can be found fighting certain creatures. It'd be a good idea if searching for such components to turn on the "small item collecting" option (see ;;option help).
I will be expanding on the number and variety of items he makes, as the new coding makes things much simpler and resource-efficient to add to. All will be more unusual items that likely require some sort of creature-based components, for characters level 10 and up.

Item Updates:
The wings of flying cloak is being updated. It will no longer require activation to get the wings. Instead, the PC (if not already possessing wings of some sort) sprouts feathered wings right when it is donned. Then, just like with winged subraces and classes, the PC just uses the Tool: Flight feat/ability to fly from spot to spot. The new version will automatically be swapped in when the old version is activated.
The Soul Reaver sword's appearance should automatically be updated when it is acquired (or when logging in), fixing the appearance mess-up caused by Project Reforged. The existing sword is swapped out for a fresh copy with the correct appearance.
That one weapon mentioned in a certain prophesy should also automatically be swapped out when it is acquired or equipped, giving it the proper new appearance.

Haha... Is there a possible for him to take advantage of PCs which is not under the effect of a mind-immunity effect (either an item or spell)?

That will be super nice to see him truly functional again. I always wanted to make a meteor sling, but everything with him got fubared before I got all the items.

A quick question, because I don't know if this should be a bug report, a request for info, IG chatter, or what have you.
Went to the revamped maker (nice!) and got some "shopping lists" from him. Went out into the world to seek my fortune.
1) I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get Troll Blood. Troll skin, yes. Troll Blood, no. Is there an extra step/trick? Or is it just luck? I'd think I'd be covered in blood by the time I was done with the (multiple) slayings, but alas, no. I present this as a possible bug, since I know there were previous issues with killing trolls, XP, and the like (XP works fine). If it's a matter of killing the right kind of Troll, fine, I can go seek further, too.
2) Displacer Beasts. Not seen 'em. Probably they were added since my vast exploration of the world, but still. Anyone care to give a hint as to where these elusive creatures might hang out?

Just wanted to thank Sir Bane and Jamala for the adventuring last night. Nice to have companions, and I was able to eventually acquire the last pelt I needed. Still no blood, but I'll have to keep looking...
Unfortunately for my personal quest, random encounters don't leave much room for "investigating the cause", so I'll need to chat up Andra for something else...
Edit: Was able to obtain 2 vials of blood so far. No bug here, just a low occurrence rate. Thanks, all!
