The church of Aquar, along with some talented engineers, are working on bringing a reliable supply of clean water to the people of Macedone.

I decided to make some brand new aqueduct models for Aenea, based on photos and some measurements of actual Roman aqueducts.  I figured I'd make them a feature of the city of Macedone.

The aqueducts end in massive storage towers, and I imagine the priests of Aquar doing daily conjurations of water elementals inside to keep the water clean and fresh until it's piped out to various fountains and pools.

These look really cool, but for some reason its something I see happen more in the likes of Mountainholme (bringing water down from the mountain springs) then in the filthy sewers town of Macedone....

Well, perhaps Macedone is a bit filthy because they haven't really had a plentiful fresh water supply?  It's often difficult to sink a well near the coast, because the water comes up salty and brackish (and sometimes sulfurous) rather than clean and non-salty.  It seems to me that they might indeed want a supply from inland.Wink

Is that a spin-off of Border Haelven's Roman Aqueducts I see there? Wink
Very nice indeed - I am certain the citizens of Aenea will appreciate the clergy's efforts in bringing them clean water! Very Happy cheers

In a way.  I saw his aqueducts, but they didn't look quite right for my taste, so I went looking for pictures of actual elevated Roman aqueducts and built my own.

Mine are about twice as tall as his, are a little bit narrower, are fully enclosed (rather than having open water on the top), and don't have matching tileset features.  And mine use different textures and shapes geared more toward my reskin of the city exterior (using 1.69 textures and one new texture I made just for the aqueducts).

I went for 30 meters in height for the most part, based on one that's still in Spain and the fact that the wealthy residents of Macedone would want something that clearly stands out (in addition to being functional).  Looking back at them, I'm considering chopping 5 meters of height out of the upper level columns before I put the hak online for downloading (I have to fix a shadow issue anyway).

^Yep, that's pretty much what I thought you had done when I saw it (and why I used the word 'spin-off').
I like the curves of your aqueduct a bit more. Smile

I also think it blends nicely in with Macedone's tileset. cheers
Although I can't really say the same with the rural tileset - the placeable, to me, seem a bit out of place. :/

The aqueducts will blend better with the rural tileset when I eventually move to using toro's rural overhaul.  I'm just not using it yet because I need to rework some of the tiles for it to work with the CEP rural set and a couple of tiles I'd added to the standard rural set from other haks over the years (archer towers and tunnels).
