New Players
Hey Folks,
I know some of y'all would love to have more folks online to run around with...
Myself, I like to solo... but I also love helping people, so its fine for me either way.
I have fun solo, and I also have fun if I can enhance the fun of others.
To this end, I am trying to get more new players to come check out
Aenea's website. The website was so well done that it is why I took the
time to download all the haks/tlk and stuff to give Aenea a try.
The way I am trying to get more folks to the website is by occaisionally posting
about Aenea on the bioware NWN forums. The following is a link to a thread
I started in order to help advertise Aenea as a great place to enjoy D&D style NWN
in an original and fun setting:
http://nwn.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=630356&forum=44
If you care and would like to try and help, feel free to post what you like about
Aenea there, or even let us all know other places were we can say good things
about Aenea so that folks will have a reason to check out the website, or
better yet, log in!

Re: New Players
Three things I wanted to bump this thread for.
One: If you havent been to NWNvault to offer feedback on 's submission there, all of which we are able to enjoy in Aenea, please try to go there and make your voice heard. its only a scant few minutes of your time, and it means a lot to the Dragon himself to have the quality of his work recognized.
posted a thread about his submissions here:
https://aenea.aforumfree.com/dm-announcements-f6/vote-drive-2008-t2.htm
Two: If you would like to share Aenea with other members of the NWN community, add your voice to the thread I mentioned above or.... start your own.
Three: I know a lot of folks have mentioned Lag to me, and I am sure others have heard about it, too. Donations for a new server are the answer. Even if you can only spare $5, every single penny adds up. We are already 1/3 of the way to having a new dedicated, optimized machine for Aenea!
Please consider donating some small amount, if you are able. Times are tight, of course, but even a few dollars might not be something you will miss overmuch, but it will bring us closer to the goal!
The main website has a link for donations here:
http://www.amethyst-dragon.com/nwn/donate.htm

Re: New Players
Hi there.
I'd be one of these new players who's attention you caught from the forums, seems a cool place so far from what I saw of the five minutes I had before my brain exploded from exhaustion.
Will have a bigger look around later today, and maybe even tell a few nwn friends to check it out.
(I dunno if this is the right place to post this but oh well)

Welcome to Aenea, Sidekick!
This is an appropriate place for talking about that, yes.
And please if you have friends that might be interested in Aenea, have them check out the website and this handy FAQ on how to get the files needed to play:
https://aenea.aforumfree.com/faqs-f4/aenea-step-by-step-install-guide-t171.htm

Re: New Players
Greetings! I am a new player as of three days ago. I had never played NWN online and decided to give it a go, I decided to do a bit of research on the NWN forums and the only server that sounded like a fit for me was this one. So far I have greatly enjoyed my time here and the players have been very kind to me, as well as initiating and taking part in a little roleplay, which is the main reason I wanted to test online NWN out. I played old school PnP as a kid to a teenager and fell out of it during my time in the military, now though it is nice to get that old school PnP feel without having to gather and organize a group to do so.
My main character is Mercius Moengard, a ranger and protector of the wild. I look forward to seeing and roleplaying with all of you in the future and again thank you all for making my arrival in this new, strange and exciting world so much fun!

Re: New Players
From what I have seen so much hardwork has been put into this experience, although I have not seen very much of it, I truly appreciate the chance and ability to get to experience this world you have created. I have already piqued a co-workers interest, as he is an old school PnP player as well. I will see you all in Aenea as continue to grow and adapt to this new adventure.

Re: New Players
Dave, i myself keep an eye out for new logins when i see them and i try to give them a good greeting and help them understand the different facets of aenea.
I myself being an only recent player i know it can be rough not understanding aspects like the sacrificial flame...new types of spells and such. It can be downright overwhelming, so i do what i can to make the transition easier.
I think we only got 3 big time mages...crideas,madara and myself...so far as i know...so if you dont have time at the moment send them my way and ill be glad to help em out and ill do vice versa.

And for hunting tips, you can always throw the fresh blood Angelica's way Always fun to introduce a player to a new area to hunt and explore, especially when they discover hey, this new place has been right under my nose all this time, and really isn't all that scary.
