Partially Used: Create undead
The wizard spell *create undead* has got to be the most useless spell i took on iggy. I tried it out the awhile back...summoned a wight(mind you this is an 8th level spell) and the wight had 26 hp and died from a strong stare. Um...gee thats one powerful spell there for 8th level. Is there anyway to just beef them up a little bit?
Mind you i havent tried it since i passed level 16...im not sure how powerful the spectre is....but i imagine it isnt much better.

Re: Partially Used: Create undead
Maybe not a useful suggestion for weak summons, but another place I saw had undead summons (except mummy dust) altered so that necromancy foci made you summon multiple undead.

Re: Partially Used: Create undead
The undead created do scale a little bit as you level. Also, my guess is that the summoned undead have the same variety in stats as undead "in the wild", so the strength of the undead may vary with each casting.
Re: Partially Used: Create undead
Ive rtun into the same problem though... you need to be 15th level in order to cast 8th level spells, and the undead created by that spell just plain.... suck.
They have undead traits sure, and incorporeality, and a drain attack... and thats all well and good... if there is something tanking for them so they dont get hit. Because if they do get hit, they get smoked.... by just about any enemy that is near your level, and still worth very little experience.
Whats the point of an 8th level spell that summons an ally thats for all intents and purposes is made out of paper mache, and it only sometimes useful if the mage themself tanks for it?
I could see it if the spell was a lower level spell, ok, sure. But 8th level is only one step below the best spells a non-epic wizard can cast... Im with Kefrem that the spell should give you an ally that can actually protect you.
