Valorian's Vale Irregular Militia

In cooperation with the Beuttlerian Army, and various other famous defenders of Valorian's Vale, we are hoping to organize a system for fielding and outfitting an irregular militia.

What this means:
The militia will not be a standing one. The members will be called upon only in times of crisis and are otherwise free to do as they wish. There are no formal requirements to join, other than the courage to face overwhelming odds and certain defeat with your head high, your weapon at the ready, and a battlecry on your lips.

What will be expected:
Should you "enlist", in time of crisis you will be expected to rendezvous with militia leadership and adhere to a battle plan. Support your fellow comrades, and if needed, give your life in defense of the Vale, the region of Nektaria, and its people.

What's in it for you:
Aside from the Honor of being a member, there will be various equipment made available to ensure you are able to perform your assigned tasks. This equipment will not be "on loan" unless otherwise stated. The standard issue gear will be provided to you at no cost, and you may keep it. You will be expected to maintain it, and keep it properly supplied where applicable after it is issued to you. Certain rare and expensive gear may be loaned out for specific purposes to certain individuals, and this will be made clear at the time of issue.

Membership will be considered a priveledge, and as such there will be other benefits made available to those who serve in good faith. With the resources available to many of us, this can mean much easier access to rare and powerful magics, as well as financial assistance when appropriate.

Failure to serve in good faith may result in discharge, and public announcement of your dishonor. Such service is not to be taken lightly.

I'd like to donate a rather large quantity of resources to the defenders of the vale. I'd help directly, but my current research in magic prevents me from doing so.

I Desi of the Fey clan of DeShade would be interested in this provided the wizard I am seeing this week can restore me to my proper form and release me from the curse that has tainted my life all to long of late.

I speak for Derfel and the rest of the Beuttlerian Military when I say that our men will always be ready for battle and more then willing to share our supplies among the ranks of the militia. We are more then willing to gather supplies for standard issue gear.

As you know...Master Bane. Bram Alley is always up for anything, that threatens the innocent.

As always I put myself and my sister (with some reluctance) up for defending the region of Nektaria, just don't expect her to obey orders all the time...

Adhering to the battle plan and doing one's best to perform assigned tasks is a big deal, actually. If that expectation cant reliably be met, it certainly doesnt stop one from helping in a battle, but it would be a barrier to being a member of the militia.

If there is a need for changes to a battle plan that leadership does not seem to be aware of, communication is needed before one decides to go do their own thing.

Hey.. I see my brother put me forward for this militia thing as well... Hmm... Well I'll be glad to lend a bone arm here and there... but if you want me to fire some spells into a group of enemies, then the leadership should pull all the allied forces out of my way. I'll happily help for my benefit, but if someone gets caught in any blue-on-blue crossfire... well they should've moved faster...

eg.. there is a BIG difference between "Kill those undead" and "Destroy those undead" ... the former statement she'll let them pass by.. (Undead have already been "killed", jobs been done already, why waste more effort) ... the later they would be likely disentegrated....

ooc: Gabe is lawful and trying to form a group that will operate smoothly as a cohesive unit, despite possible being *hugely* varied in character levels, so to him, the whole "team player" thing is a big, albeit one of the few, requirements. Anybody can join, but if they start screwing around in a battle or not making intelligent or supportive choices, they would likely be discharged... not definitely, but likely.

As always, I am prepared to stand with the other defenders of the Vale.
