When "good" becomes "meh" without changing...
sighs at his own quest for "better"...
So, yesterday morning I got an idea for a new creature model and how to go about making it. With only a few hours of work snuck in between feeding 4 kids, taking care of 2 kids that felt lousy from getting 5 immunizations each, and cleaning the house a bit, I managed to finish that creature model and test it out in the build module. With some tweaks, it looked good. I was ready to finalize it in the appearance.2da.
Just to make sure nobody else had made a better model for this particular creature, I went and did a little search on the Vault. There were a couple other versions of this creature, but I liked mine better. Then I stumbled on a model for a related creature that blew me away (no not similar looking, just distantly related). I decided to take that related creature model, adapt it for use in Aenea, and adapt it again to make a second creature model.
Of course, putting these new models together with the one I'd just made...I got dissatisfied with my own work.
Now, I'm back to work in gmax so that I can remake my creature model, plus another related one I got an idea for. I think of it as a little gift for the players for all the time you've dedicated to Aenea, which you'll get to see once I upload a new updates hak file in under a week.
By the way...skin meshes are a pain in the rear! And emitters are even worse, since you can't even see them in gmax while you're working with them.

I do have a question: when you do the updates hak, will it include anything for some of the spell bugs and/or suggestions?
Not a huge deal if not... it can wait, obviously... just being hopeful is all

We'll see what I can find time for. Besides this sudden idea for this creature model, I've just been working on the epic magic stuff for the last couple of weeks.

They "meh" has be replaced with the "kick ass". And that one's getting company. Just got the little ones and the wife off to bed, so I get a couple of hours to push and weld vertices, then do some minor adjusting of bones and weights for another skinmeshed creature upgrade, then test them all in the build module (again).
