I would like to suggest that the Darkfire Reavers formerly stationed in the superior tunnels of depsair, and at the end of The Gauntlet be returned to active duty.

Yeah, I think that it's one of the downside's to the SparkySpawn.... some enemies where is such well-established places that to see them gone is a real shame... And some enemies just never seem to show up anymore..

I'm also of the opinion that although the SparkySystem is great for randomness and variety the world has become a bit more monster-hunting rather than monster-killing, is that just me or does anyone else feel like that ?

Right now as things are, I agree Rusty. The world in general seems more empty than ever. There were always some few remote locations where there was no activity, but now that has become somewhat widespread.

The issue is less with the Sparky Spawn system, I think, and more to do with the settings it is currently operating with. When The Amethyst Dragon has time, I am sure he will get around to tweaking and upping encounter rates, etc...

I just wanted to lobby for some of our more 'established' baddies to make a return, sparky system notwithstanding.

Yes, more critters would be great.

And I echo Dave's original idea.... the darkfire reaver and the tradeholm toll-troll should be "standard" spawns... the troll especially is a kind of 'rite of passage' for new characters. It was sad to see the troll gone!

I think it may be nice too to have some more "mini boss" type encounters across Aenea... one or two specific baddies that are always in a certain spot guarding something as well as the randomized sparkyspawns

Agreed! Mini-bosses rock! All the better if *some* are located in "off to the side" spots that can be bypassed if a PC cant kill it or doesnt want to bother.... but in general they are great because they offer that "i want a little extra challenge on this journey" option.

Of course that comes with the caveat that the XP and loot are worth the effort, too Razz

To be more specific, some 'static' spawns I would like to see for variety:

1. One or two barbed demons tossed into the spawns of soulbourne demons
2. One marilleth dervish tossed into the Balor spawns.
3. The single darkfire reaver spawn on the ramp in the beginning of the superior tunnels of despair
4. The trio of darkfire reavers in front of the exit of the Gauntlet (and perhaps expanding the area a bit to make the end of the corridor into a small 'room' so there is some room to move about for that last battle?)
5. The toll-troll on the forest bridge just before tradeholm
6. Some incorporeal undead added into the ruined temple in the swamp of mists
7. Some vampires and a vampire mages, maybe even a mummy lord or an alhoon added into the ruined temple in the swamp of mists
8. A few vampire warriors, mages, incorporeal undead and maybe a lich spread out through the Fields of Death
9. Umber hulks, Hook horrors, Labotomized Slaves (orcs, ogres, drow, etc) added to the Mindflayer Enclave
10. A solitary darkblade of knort scrar spawn added to a few spots around Tesh
11. Orc beasts of war and blood witches added to orc spawns in the outlying areas near tesh, as well as to the tesh portal room Smile
12. At least a few undead spawns made static in the Vale graveyard
13. Some polar bears added to the ice giant areas in Icereach
14. Some Ice Giant shamans/clerics of Torgat (?) added to the ice giant enclave
15. Elite Orcish Archers, darkblades, beasts of war, and blood witches all over the Orcish Imperial Palace on both the main floor and in the dungeons.
