Jan. 5, 2011: Change Your Voice Set

The next time the server resets, players should get the capability to alter their characters' voice set from in-game. This will make use of a new VC command ;;tool voice x...where x is replaced by a voice set ID number from here. This has to use letoscript, so it'll boot your character so it can alter the character file (don't log out while this is happening).

BTW, why those voices and not certain others?

The voice sets listed would fit many different characters of normal PC sizes. Some (like some "large" voices) are open to the largest PCs (male half-orcs), but other ones like demon voices, giant voices, or even dragon voices (or ones that are really filled with Forgotten Realms specific stuff) are not on the list because I don't think they would fit Aenea or a PC.

I haven't poked through the soundfiles yet, but offhand, if the human-blackguard voice isn't on there, that would be a great addition. There's no lore specific stuff in it, and it's a funny voice set (It's the one I use on Auger)

I tried to get a bit more descriptive with some of the NPC-based ones, and "blackguard" definitely doesn't fit that voiceset. That voice is there:
#352 Male, Warrior, Overly Polite

As far as I have seen, there's no Child, Female voiceset in the available list? I have always found it to be a nice choice for female halflings/smaller races (like Aeneas mouseblood). Any special reason why it wasn't included or did I just completely overlook it?

While yer looking at um, what are the chances of re-enabling the cuss sound file for the dumb hero voiceset

The sound vs_fx0dumbm_cuss needs to be added to line 43 in vs_fx0dumbm.ssf I think to fix it.

would it be possible to get #371, 'ayala', added to the list?

Any chance this can be updated to use the new NWNX software to avoid booting the PC when they select a new voice?

And, I believe, there was a boo-boo with at least one of the sets, the null voice set ... when set, the game crashes whenever the pc utilizes an emote that usually has a voice with it. See this bug thread for details!

yeah, still need to remove that null set from the list.

As far as using NWNX, changing the voice set is pretty much the only thing nwnx_funcs (the plugin that allows all the other character changes in-memory) can't do that I'd want it to handle.

Technically the function to change voice sets is included, but in testing it doesn't work.

So the null set is a bust? Is there no way to turn off emote voices?
