Lore of the Wanderer's Portals
Scattered throughout the lands, a network of these ancient mystical Portals can be found, useful for transporting one great distances instantaneously. Legend tells that they were constructed by Gort, God of Travel and Horses, as a gift to his followers and all who wander the lands.
In order to use them, one must earn the approval of the Wanderer himself by questing for his lost Valley through the Trackless Path. Therein, one can obtain the 'key' to using the portals.
These wondrous marvels are rumored to be 15 in number, though legends tell of a secret 16th destination. The legends even say that finding the key is not enough - each portal has a nearby clue that can reveal its code - one must decipher the codes of the portals in order to travel between them.
Below, if you seek, you may find the lore and legends of their resting places - though vague and inexact, they may aid in your search:
- Spoiler:
- - Somewhere in the Valley of the Wanderer [this portal is only one way]
- Somewhere near Valorians Vale
- Somewhere in the Frozen Wastes of Icereach
- Somewhere in the Mountains of Deathwater Island
- Somewhere in the Orcich Empire of Blood (K'nort Sc'rar)
- Somewhere in the Kingdom of Light
- Somewhere in the Ruins of Alatha
- Somewhere in the Shieldlands
- Somewhere in Shentil
- Somewhere in the Sylvan Realm
- Somewhere near Mountainholm
- Somewhere near Macedone
- Somewhere in Calithia
- Somewhere in Rockholm
- Somewhere in the Great Rift

Re: Lore of the Wanderer's Portals
// I don't believe you included the non-functioning portal found in a certain house in Mistborne, which former location was on top of the Crystalbreeze Mountain...in the list above. Unless of course you left it out on purpose, which in that case, just ignore my ramblings. =P
Maybe make a minor note that the Valley of the Wanderer portal is a one-way gate (because it's activation code has not been noted down anywhere as far as I can tell)? Well. Just a thought, anyway. =)

Re: Lore of the Wanderer's Portals
Hehe.... That would be because what you are referring to there is inside my Player House. Is non-functional in any way. The description was written by myself (RustyDios) for what would be a good explanation for my Cleric/Monk of Gort to justify (me) having one in her section of the house !
It likely isn't included in the above list because in-truth it is "not cannon" with the portal network of Aenea, and has not been specifically placed by , although it was allowed to remain in the house for flavour/RP purposes... glad you explored the house enough to find it ... I thank you for taking the time to read about it and remember it from when you have visited my Player Housing.
Your second point is very valid if we were to go into details about each gate I think, but I see that list as a very very broad "there is one there" list...
I think it should however mention one more;

Re: Lore of the Wanderer's Portals
Ah, thanks for explaining that Rusty. I wasn't too sure of that Wanderer's Portal...but I liked the description of it very much (wasn't able to get inside the room, but if you visit the guest rooms you can get a peek of it).
And yeah, I just remembered about that Dark Realm Portal, too (although it requires Epic Magic to get access to it). XD

Re: Lore of the Wanderer's Portals
Thanks for posting this Dave! It will definitely help Fren find the remaining 8 portals that she seeks.
Re: Lore of the Wanderer's Portals
My post makes a reference to the one you mentioned, Rusty.

Nah. It's one of four threads in this section, in no danger of being lost.daveyeisley wrote:I dunno ... You think this is sticky-worthy?
