Can't get the Prizimal Temple quest pillars to activate

I've been trying to get back to the quest in the Alatha Prizimal Temple for a while, after it having snafu'd the first time my ranger tried it (the first person in my party went through but not me), and finally I got all the orbs for my other character, my wizard, to try it.

But this time I don't ever see the pillars, it's only the lights all the time instead.  When I first went there, I nearly thought the quest discontinued, because I didn't recall the lights, or that the pillars were intermittent.  But I just happened to see the pillars one day, and so I went my way collecting all the orbs then came back and waited for the pillars to reappear.

I've been waiting about two weeks now.  I've waited through 24 hours of the IG clock several times, so I guess the pillars' appearance doesn't correspond to everyday at some hour.  I've put the four orbs out on my inventory page rather than in a bag, just in case the script had to recognize someone carrying orbs.  I've gone in and out of the building, just in case it triggered on a new entry.  I've logged in one or several times a day for a couple of weeks, and I'm just not seeing the pillars appear, only the lights.

The last time I tried this was about a year ago, and I didn't recall that the pillars would disappear and reappear, as they were there the whole time (until all four orbs were appropriately set).  So is that what they are supposed to do, and how often or under what circumstances can I get them to appear?

If this quest is actually working, may I suggest putting the pillars on a timer to appear at dusk and disappear at dawn?

And P.S., I'd also suggest that if the pillars and the accompanying shadow horde start happening again, that it would be better to put the ring of stones anchor point in the corner library of the temple rather than in the large room where one might spawn oneself into the middle of that shadow horde.

Still checking daily on this quest.

So, can anyone tell me how to trigger the appearance of the pillars?  Or under what conditions I might find them there?

It's been a veeeeeeeery long time since I did that puzzle.  As far as I know, the pillars *should* show up.

This quest doesn't have a repeat prevention in it, does it?

Although I'm pretty sure the failed attempt was with my first character, my ranger, and now I'm trying it with a character that's never attempted it, my wizard.

As far as I know, no. You can't redo it once you have completed it though (since the area changes once the quest is completed).

I'll have to check but I might have a character who has yet to do the quest so I can double check if it's a repeatable bug or just your character.

I wonder if there's a way to reset the variable for this quest on my ranger, and look at the variable on my wizard, to make sure they can both do it?

My ranger didn't get any benefit of the quest when she bumbled in there partied with someone who went through first and thereby very disappointingly ended it, so I'd like to repeat it with her.

But this quest is more important to my wizard (because of her current interest in Prizimal), and she is still waiting for the scene to show again (like I said, I saw it happen once a couple months ago, before she'd gotten all the items for it).

Thanks to Manny for getting my wizard past the roadblock!  Wasn't what I'd expected, guess it's an old quest, not much happened.

But at least I got my frustrations exorcised for my wizard investigating Prizimal, so I'm done.
