Cannot change weapon appearance

At the Tailor's Place in He'Levan the option to modify your weapon's appearance does not seem to work (tested for club, two-handed sword, mage staff and longbow).
Picking the "Add my weapon's type to the mystical boots for modification" option does not do anything. Cloaks, however, work.
In the case of the mage staff, I get the response that this weapon type is currently not supported, but no feedback whatsoever for the other weapon types.
