Thanks to the generosity of you, the players of Aenea, we have a new server computer running the game! The newer, dedicated machine should be noticeably faster and it won't be used by anyone else in the house for watching TV online or playing games.

I've noticed a difference already, even logging in on my home network just to see if the game was showing up online.

A lag-reduced experience. If you're still getting some when facing a hundred enemies and wiping them all out at once with multiple area spells from a spell trigger while 8 other PCs are in the same area...

You will be free of lag caused by my wife watching tv shows online on the same machine. And lag caused by my kids playing their little games. And lag caused by me downloading pictures off my digital camera.

Lag will also be reduced with the 42% increase in processor speed and 200% increase in RAM.

Ace... now to just get some time spare to get back into he world....

I remember when I first got here and learned of some of the issues faced in providing the best experience he could, and it honestly fills me with joy to see this goal has been reached!!!

Is the donation drive done, , or are you still accepting them? Sorry I couldn't contribute this run ...

I am still accepting donations, since the game still uses up electricity, anti-viral software, those cans of dust removal stuff, and internet access.

I understand not everyone can contribute via money. That's why it's a voluntary donation instead of a monthly fee.

Really, I would run Aenea without the donations, like I did for almost 2 years. The donations have gotten everyone a nice new server (well, it'll be nice once the new hard drive gets here and I install it) and a few less eye-rollings from my wife over spending money on a game.
