Working on a file for 5 minutes, deciding it needs to be saved "just in case something happens", and the software locking up when you go to save the file.

At least it wasn't an hour of work lost, like I've had happen.

Yeah, really stinks when that happens. I get that mostly myself with my image editor.

Agree... I hate it when that happens.... I think it's partly down to the "omnious feeling something is about to go wrong, so doing something to protect/stop that wrong from happening, which just ends up causing it anyway... " .... I'm not sure I got that feeling across there, but it's like ""It was GOING to happen REGARDLESS of what you do to prevent it... like it was part of the fundemental law of the universe""....

We SO need to obliterate Murphy somehow. Ya kill him, and he just comes back...

Suck is getting one's right shoulder dislocated. Oh damn, breaking an arm doesn't even come close in terms of pain and overall suckiness. I'm fine now, though I won't be joining you guys for at least 2 weeks.

Suck is having plans to travel to the next state tomorrow (for longest known friend's wedding), and having the car engine blow up this morning.

Been planning on this for 6 months, the first time in 4+ years that the wife and I would be without the kids, were going to visit Powell's and walk along the waterfront, etc...

Edit: Also, I can't find the TV remote. Will this day never end?

It is harsh that I have been away for so long. Sorry for the lack of communication, but I am w/o NWN on my new system.

I got the new rig up and running, but basically had to pay for two of them. Been playing DAO non-stop for the past few months while I search for a new copy of NWN. Then I face the dread Tech wall of updating for both the game, and here. And some here know how much I luv Tech.... *coughs*

Suck is tileset walkmeshes. What a pain. Edit out one tiny piece of a tile and you have to make a whole new walkmesh for it or end up with flying PCs...stupid. I didn't even modify the floor!

At least it's only a few tiles and not a whole set I have to redo the walkmeshes for.

The "[CEP] mines and caverns" tileset has a few terrain/group/feature tiles that have a "desert sands floor and theme" .... ...

Suck is...waking up to find that your A/C isn't cooling as it should...in the desert...with a forecast high of 105 F... at least it's a weekday and the A/C guy can stop by and take a look.

On a similar note, suck is also starting your first day of your internship and discovering at at current, the design office has no AC... about ten people in a pretty small room with a high of 102. It was cooler outside, in one of the busiest parts of NY with the most vehicular traffic.

When the Valley let pollution get as hazy as LA, it created sorta dome-like effect which can trap heat and broil the area. Still, it is more like a sauna here in the SEC when effective temps get that high, and I would die w/o my A/C. It was bad enough ehen it went out in my old car for 5 yrs.

Make some Sun tea, enjoy a matinee, or even go sit with the kids in a mall that has an ice rink! Imagine you are in the Bioware studios! Good luck!

Oh, and it turns out to have been a small part that controls the compressor (and something else) that "popped" and had to be replaced. House started to cool back down within 15 minutes of it being replaced.

Suck is ... not saving an area your working on in the toolset.. d/l'ing and updating a certain hak file..... then finding out the all the placeables and traps you just laid have just "disappeared" from your module, everythings working "funky" and nothings right because somehow you've managed to delete the .tlk it was using whilst it was open... having your ENTIRE machine throw a fit and tell you nicely "Windows Vista (Not Responding)" ... before auto-shutdown to run it's own stupid updates.... ... not being able to switch the machine back on for nearly an hour .... (the exterior on/off switch having absolutely NO response)......

... and then NOT being able to even open the toolset again due a "Critical Error in " (yes that's BLANK).... .... ...



NOT suck is .... going out for a smoke to calm down and relax a bit to come back with your (nearly) 2yr old son somehow attempting to drop a dracolich in a lava pool in your fully open and working perfectly preserved mod, that 5 minutes ago "didn't work" .... .... .. I mean what gives ?!? ... Is the world just trying to test me today ?!?
